The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Who's in it: Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett

What's it about: Born with a rare disease, Benjamin Button(Pitt) was left on a doorstep. His disease causes his body to grow younger but his mind to grow older. He grows up in an old folks home where he meets a young girl named Daisy(Blanchett). The two fall in love but, because of his appearance, never can really be together. He falls in love with the sea and goes out on a trip with his sailor friends. He meets love and heartbreak and when he comes back, he gets together with Daisy. Their age is still a problem with them and will either make them or break them.

What I Think: Originally a novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, this movie was well performed. This movie deserved every award it was nominated for. It's hard to say why I liked this movie as much as I did, but I loved it. The acting was phenomenal. The storyline was flawless. I believe that every single detail of this movie was thought out. You have to watch the whole movie to be able to understand the whole of it. The setting was great and the props were used to their maximum. Great everything!

Burn After Reading

Burn After Reading

Who's in it: John Malkovich, Tilda Swinton, George Clooney, Frances McDormand, Brad Pitt

What's it about: Osbourne(Malkovich) has just lost his CIA job. His wife, Katie(Swinton), is sleeping with her friend, Harry(Clooney). When she begins to file for divorce against Osbourne, she gets all of their financial info on a disc. Chad(Pitt) finds the disc and thinks that it contains classified information. Chad and his friend Linda(McDormand) decide to hold the CD for ransom. Harry begins to date Linda and when they start to get close, events happen and things start to get ugly.

What I Think: This movie was a complete waste of time. The only funny things about it were Pitts character and Clooney's chair. Those things kept you laughing. The storyline sucked. The acting was horrible. The themes were disgusting. It was basically a horrible movie. It was even worse when the events began to turn for the worst. Clooney wasn't even that good looing. Not one of his best. Pitt was great and I loved him. The only thing that I got out of this movie was that cheating on your significant other is bad. I must say that Malkovich really liked the f word!
