Disaster Movie

Disaster Movie

Who's in it: Matt Lanter, Gary Johnson, Nicole Parker, Crista Flanagan, Kimberly Kardashian

What's it about: Will(Lanter) is in love with Lisa(Kardashian) but has realtionship issues. He's just not ready to settle down. At his birthday party, she leaves him. Then a huge disaster happens! Will's best friend, Calvin(Johnson) and he set out to find her with some help from Juney(Flanagan), a pregnant teenager, and a loopy princess(Parker).

What I Think: This movie was alright. The comedic routine was pretty expected the whole time. You pretty much knew what was going to happen next. The movies is made fun of were Cloverfield, Enchanted, Juno, High School Musical, 10,000 BC, No Country For Old Men, Indiana Jones: Quest for the Crystal Skull, Night at the Museum, Kung Fu Panda, and Alvin and the Chipmunks. I must say that my favourite part was with Alvin and the Chipmunks. That had me laughing for hours afterwards.

College Roadtrip

College Roadtip

Who's in it: Raven Symone, Martin Lawrence

What's it about: Melanie(Raven) has always been a daddy's girl with great grades. She's graduated from high school and got accepted to her dream college, Georgetown. She also got accepted to her dads(Lawrence) choice college, Northwestern. The only problem is that his college is close to home, while hers is far away. After she's accepted to Georgetown, she has to go to an interview. She and her dad are off on a roadtrip to the interview and run into many obstacles.

What I Think: This movie was fairly good. It's what you would expect for a Disney family movie. I was expecting a little bit more fighting, but I guess it was fine the way that it was. Not a fan of Raven-Symone, and I still am not. Lawrence was very funny though. He made alot of funny faces and it was great seeing him as an overprotective father. He's quite the comedian\.

What Happens In Vegas

What Happens In Vegas

Who's in it: Cameron Diaz, Ahston Kutcher, Rob Corddry, Lake Bell, Jason Sudeikis

What's is about: Joy(Diaz) and Mason(Sudeikis) have just ended their engagement and she's off to Vegas with her best friend Tipper(Bell). Jack(Kutcher) just lost his job and he's tired of the world and he's off to Vegas with his best friend Hater(Corddry). The 4 of them are accidentally put into a room together and havoc wreaks. When they finally settle everything they all decide to go out for a night on the town. When Joy wakes up and sees a cheap ring on her finger, she freaks out. She's now Mrs. Jack Fuller. They decide to break it off but get into a fight. When Jack wins a $3 million jackpot, Joy comes back to claim some moolah. They get into a lawsuit and have to make the marriage work for 6 months, but they are determined to make the other fail.

What I Think: This movie was very funny. I enjoyed the humor that it offered. I've never been a huge fan of Kutcher, but he's really beginning to grow on me. Diaz is gorgeous as always. The comedy was absolutely great. The way that everything just seemed to work out just made it even more funny. I expected some things but that's OK. Loved the movie as a whole

Meet the Spartans

Meet the Spartans

Who's in it: Sean Maguire, Carmen Electra, Ken Davitian, Kevin Sorbo, Diedrich Bader, Method Man, Jareb Dauplaise, Travis Van Winkle, Phil Morris

What's it about: Leonidas(Maguire) fought off a dancing penguin to become King. He then asked Margo(Electra) to be his Queen. A messenger(Morris) comes to say that the evil Persian King Xerxes(Davitian) is threatening to wipe Sparta off the map, King Leonidas has no choice but to fight back. He meets many different Persians along the way including a dance off with a Persian Emissary(Method Man) with his Captain(Sorbo) and his son Sonio(Van Winkle). Meanwhile, back in Sparta, Queen Margo is raped by Traitoro(Bader). After Dilio(Dauplaise) is blinded, Leonidas sends him back to tell the story of the Spartan army.

What I Think: This is pretty much a spin off from many different movies including 300, Happy Feet, Spider Man 3, Transformer, Shrek, Ghostrider, and Stomp the Yard. Also it made fun of specific people and shows like Ugly Betty, American Idol, America's Next Top Model, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Brittney Spears, K-Fed, Chris Crocker, and Sanjaya. The movie was pretty funny. I enjoyed that fact that there were no naked women but some sexual reference. Lots of things about balls. I enjoyed the comedy.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Who's in it: Johnny Depp, Helen Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall

What's it about: Benjamin Barker(Depp) was a barber in London. He was shipped off for a crime he didn't commit so that Judge Turpin(Rickman) could take his family from him. Now he's back as Sweeney Todd and he wants his revenge. When Beadle(Spall) announces Todd as the best barber in London, Todd opens a parlor above Ms. Lovett's(Carter) Meat Pie Shop. Ms. Lovett brings up the idea to use Todd's customers as meat for her pies and Todd is on his way to revenge against Judge Turpin.

What I Think: Depp was great but I think that he is forever Captain Jack Sparrow. I've seen Rickman in many different roles but he's still an outstanding actor. Carter had an amazing voice and kept me enthralled. The songs were very catchy and I loved the lyrics. This was quite the grusome comedy.

From Hell

From Hell

Who's in it: Johnny Depp, Heather Graham, Ian Holm, Robbie Coltrane

What's it about: Jack the Ripper is on the loose and brutaly murdering the whores of Whitecastle. Inspector Abberline(Depp) and Sergeant Godley(Coltrane) are on the case and on their way to find Jack. When Mary Kelly(Graham) and Abberline begin to fall in love, it's a race against time to save her in every way he can. With the help of Sir William Gull(Holm) the case is beginning to slowly close.

What I Think: Amazing performance by every single actor and actress in this movie. The costumes were perfect as was the set. I felt as if I were truly in 19th century England. Coltrane has proven to be able to do such a serious work as well as the lovable Hagrid from Harry Potter. Depp is outstanding as always.

The Family Stone

The Family Stone

Who's in it: Sarah Jessica Parker, Dermot Mulroney, Luke Wilson, Diane Keaton, Craig T. Nelson, Rachel McAdams, Claire Danes

What's it about: Meredith(Parker) and Everett(Mulroney) are in love. For Christmas, Meredith goes to meet Everett's family. The family doesn't like her and they want her gone. When Everett tells his mom, Sybil(Keaton), that he's going to propose, everything gets out of whack. Amy(McAdams) is trying her hardest to get rid of her while Ben(Wilson) is trying to get her to stay. Meredith invites her sister Julie(Danes) to accompany her after a few days of the family and Everett falls in lover with her instead. Kelly(Nelson) is trying his hardest to keep everything under control.

What I Think: Though I'm not a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker, I must say that I think she did outstanding in this movie. I'm a sucker for Luke Wilson and that is what really sold the movie to me. Although I didn't like the fact that Everett and Julie end up falling in love, the movie is definetely worth seeing!

Hitch

Hitch

Who's in it: Will Smith, Eva Mendes, Kevin James, Amber Valletta

What's it about: Hitch(Smith) is always helping the less fortunate men who can never get a woman to stay. He helps them dress, speak, and just act the way 'every' woman wants. But when Albert(James) wants to get together with the lovely and famous Allegra Cole(Valletta), he tries his hardest. He succeeds with major triumph and then he meets Sara(Mendes). Sara is a columnist. She and Hitch go on a few dates until she finds out that Hitch is the 'date doctor'. She rats him out to the whole city through the newspaper and chaos spreads.

What I Think: This movie was a great movie to watch. I enjoyed the hilarious sides of Smith and James. Mendes did an alright job, but I think that she could've put a little bit more into a Will Smith comedy. Even though the movie in itself is labeled as a romantic comedy, the movie wasn't just all fun and love games. There were some serious parts about it that make you think about life.
"Life isn't how many breaths you take, it's how many moments take your breath away" - Hitch(Will Smith)

The Bachelor

The Bachelor

Who's in it: Chris O'Donnell, Renée Zellweger, Artie Lange

What's it about: Jimmie(O'Donnell) is a bachelor. Or as he says, a 'wild mustang'. He's always dating beautiful women for fun. But when he meets Anne(Zellweger), he falls head over heels. They attend all of his friends weddings and when she catches the bouquet, he panics. He feels like he has to propose to her now. On their 3 year anniversary of being together, he proposes and everything falls apart and they break up. When his grandfather dies, he is to inherit $100,000. The only catch is to be married before he turns 30. The thing is, his birthday is tomorrow! On an epic search to find Anne with his best friend Marco(Lange), he learns just how much love is worth.

What I Think: I do like Renée Zellweger, but in this movie she just wasn't that great. She wasn't in it alot of the time so I guess that could be what happened. O'Donnell was very good looking but didn't do a great acting job. He needs to stick with Batman.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Who's in it: Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp

What's it about: The third Pirates movie of the trilogy. Captain Jack Sparrow(Depp) is brought back from Davy Jones' Locker by Elizabeth(Knightley) and William(Bloom). Elizabeth and William, who in the previous movies were desperatley in love, seemed to have lost it somewhere between the second and third movies. The 9 leader pirates are on they're way to meet in order to release Calypso, the ocean goddess. The English Navy has teamed with Davy Jones to stop this from happening.

What I think: Outstanding display of talent from Knightley and Depp as always. Bloom wasn't great, and he didn't look great, but I have to give him his props. He can play a romantic better than most actors.

Kingdom of Heaven

Kingdom of Heaven

Who's in it: Orlando Bloom, Liam Neeson

What's it about: I'm not quite sure, but some guy is a knight and he wants to win the Crusades. Some guy has leprosy and it's really gross.

What I Think: I couldn't stand watching this movie. It definetely couldn't keep my attention for the world. I give this movie no stars. Orlando Bloom is ugly in this movie and he just needs to accept that he's ugly.

Love Actually

Love Actually

Who's In It: Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Keira Knightley, Rowan Atkinson

What's It About: A mix of many different love stories showing us just how small the world is. The Prime Minister(Grant) has fallen in love with his maid. Daniel(Neeson) just lost his wife. A boss man(Rickman) is cheating on his wife. Juliet(Knightley) has her newly wed husband's best friend in love with her. Jamie(Firth) has just found out his brother has been with his wife. Everyone is having the life filled with love, good or bad.

What I Think: This all-British crew leaves you wanting more. The love stories are heartfelt and the not-so-love-stories are heart breaking. Keira is absolutely beautiful, as always, and Hugh still has the sexiest voice in the world. The movie makes me laugh, cry, hope, dream, and want to seriously smack Alan in the balls.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose

The Exocism of Emily Rose

Who's in it: Jennifer Carpenter, Laura Linney, Tom Wilkinson

What's is about: Based on a true story, Emily Rose(Carpenter) was taken over by demonic forces. Father Moore(Wilkinson) was left in charge of her life when she got to her worst. On Halloween, he decided to perform an exorcism, with her and her family's permission. This exorcism failed and resulted in her death. Now, Father Moore is in a court case against The People. He starts to tell her story to the jury with help from his non-believer lawyer, Erin(Linney).

What I Think: This movie scared me in a way that other movies haven't been able to. Me being Catholic and all, the thought of having demons inside of my body scares the living daylights out of me. The visions that she had and the things that she experienced were very frightening. The end of the movie was very twisted and I was surprised by it. It makes you really begin to wonder what God has in store for us.

The Ring 2

The Ring 2

Who's in it: Naomi Watts, David Dorfman, Kelly Stables

What's it about: Rachel(Watts) is a reporter who, in The Ring, helped to stop a 'deadly' video tape in which Samara(Stables) will kill you after 7 days after watching it. Samara was thrown into a well to die by her mother and has come back for her revenge. Aiden(Dorfman), Rachel's son, is the target of Samara during this movie. All she wants is a mother and Aiden is the body she attempts to steal.

What I think: Personally, I think that this movie was possibly the worst movie I have ever seen. You expect for a movie with a slightly frightening prequel to be even scarier. This movie had no scary parts in it at all. Everything was expected. Samara just isn't scary anymore. Definetely a movie disaster.

The Holiday

The Holiday

Who's in it: Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Jack Black

What's it about: Iris(Winslet) and Amanda(Diaz) are two women who have trouble with men. Iris has been in love with a man for three years and has now found out he's engaged. He won't seem to let her go and it's driving her insane. Amanda can never find a stable relationship. She's beginning to hate men and everything that they stand for. These two women meet online for a house-swap. Over the 2 week Christmas holiday, Iris goes to L.A. and Amanda goes to England. Iris meets a man, Miles(Black). Amanda meets a man, Graham(Law).

What I think: This movie started and ended with great performances from all the stars. The storyline is quite realistic when you think of the world as a whole. Everything that happens has me just crept up to the screen wishing I could somehow be part of the movie. I'm wanting to slap, hug, cry, laugh, and love all at the same time. I completely recommend this movie for couples who want to snuggle and have a good night together.

The Others

The Others

Who's in it: Nicole Kidman, Alakina Mann

What's it about: A woman and her two children live in a mansion alone. Their father is off at the war. One day, three servants appear to help Grace(Kidman) take care of the children and the house. The children have a rare disease in which they are severely allergic to light. They are taught by Grace through the Bible. When Anne(Mann), Grace's daughter, begins to see 'intruders', Grace begins to slowly lose her sanity trying to find these people who seem to be taking over her house.

What I think: This movie started out as one of the worst most boring movies I had ever seen. It was hard to keep paying attention. As the movie progressed, it got so much easier to understand what was going on. The movie ended up being amazingly played out. The ending was outstandingly genius! You will never see what's coming at the end! I promise you that!
