You Don't Mess With The Zohan

You Don't Mess With The Zohan

Who's in it: Adam Sandler, John Turturro, Emmanuelle Chriqui

What's it about: The greatest Israeli counter-terrorist, Zohan(Sandler), is finally wanting to stop the war against the Palestinians. Zohan has superhuman characteristics and fakes his death against Palestine's greatest terrorist, Phantom(Turturro). Zohan then leaves for America with his dream to become a great hair stylist. He get's a job at a salon with his lovely boss, Dahlia(Chriqui). He begins to rush in phenomonal amounts of business and everything is changing very quickly. Zohan, along with Dahlia, want the hostility between Palestine and Israel to stop and will go to any length to stop it.
What I Think: I have always loved Adam Sandler and all of his movies. He has a charm that is getting harder and harder to find these days. He can be completely serious, yet so funny you pee your pants. This is just one more blockbuster for Sandler to add to his neverending list of greats. Turturro was also very funny. Sometimes it's hard to watch him, but here he was in his element. He was also in The Big Lebowski but I didn't mention it because he did not play that much of a significant character. Anyways, I loved this movie and it had me laughing the whole time

Saw 5

Saw 5

Who's in it: Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Scott Patterson

What's it about: Jigsaw(Bell) has left someone to continue the work that he started. Officer Mark Hoffman(Mandylor) is living the legacy of Jigsaw to its fullest when he starts a new maze for 5 unfortunate souls. During this he is also luring Agent Strahm(Patterson) into his greatest creation ever. Hoffman has learned everything from Jigsaw and he wants to share the knowledge with as many people as he can. He wants an appreciation for life and the thankfulness for redemption to spread among people. The final scene brings the worst possible thought of deception and trickery known to man.

What I Think: This is by far the best of the Saw series. I was amazed at the diverse types of torturous devices. I really think that they reall outdid themselves this time. The way that Strahm was unraveling the true mystery of Jigsaw and the apprenticeship of Hoffman was outstanding. It was truely breathtaking from the beginning scene to the finale. I was cringing at parts but applauding the plot the whole way through. I mostly hope that this is not the end. I continue to be awed by Saw and really anticipate a sixth movie. Each just keeps getting better. I can't wait for most twists for my mind to conceive and attempt to solve. Just when you thought this movie couldn't get any better, the final scene will absolutely blow your mind.

The Big Lebowski

The Big Lebowski

Who's in it: Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, David Huddleston, Tara Reid

What's it about: After his rug is peed on by some house robbers, Jeff Lebowski... I mean, The Dude(Bridges) goes out after the other Jeff Lebowski(Huddleston), who happens to be a millionaire, for compensation. Mr. Lebowski tells The Dude that he will not get him a new rug, but after Mr. Lebowski's wife, Bunny(Reid), is kidnapped, The Dude is called for help. The Dude calls up his best friends Walter(Goodman) and Donny(Buscemi) to help him retrieve the beautiful Bunny so that he can get his new rug for his house. However, The Dude didn't know that the road would be so dangerous and that the people involved would be so deceiving.

What I Think: This movie was recommended to me by John from the Blockbuster that I go to. I thought that this movie was pretty funny. I'm not too fond of the nudity because it was pretty unecessary and stupid. Bridges did a great job being a bum trying to get his rug replaced. That was pretty much the entire story. He was only interested in getting a new rug that would look good in his house. I really liked that! Goodman was hilarious. Everything that he said made you want to hate him, but you just couldn't because he was just too funny about it. Although Buscemi had a very small part, he did a great job. He always looks like the frail, scared man, and he didn't cease to disappoint me. This was a good movie to watch with friends.

X-Men I

X-Men I

Who's in it: Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Famke Janssen, James Marsden

What's it about: Logan(Jackman) has been a loner since his operation. He has indestructable claws that retract into his arm and he uses them to his advantage all of the time. He is nicknames Wolverine. When he meets Rogue(Paquin), they travel to Professor Charles Xavier's(Stewart) school for gifted youngsters. When Storm(Berry) discovers that Rogue has the power to "borrow" another mutants powers for a short period of time, Magneto(McKellen) becomes interested in her. It's up to Wolvering, Storm, Dr. Jean Grey(Janssen), and Cyclops(Marsden) to keep Rogue safe and out of Magneto's dangerous grip.

What I Think: I've always been amazed with the X-Men. I used to watch the cartoon as a child and always wished that I too could be powerful like them. I'm glad to see some of the acting in this really portrays the characters from the comic and the cartoon. I wonder if they all had to watch hours upon hours of the cartoon and read the comics for months! I was specifically impressed with Jackman. He's Australian but you can barely tell when he plays as Wolverine. He gets the anger down and he can really make the right facial expressions. The humor was kind of hard to pick up but I got most of it! I loved Stewart and Berry. I thought that they were able to really dig into their characters personality and bring it to life. I was, however, disappointed with the way Paquin did Rogue. It was probably the script writers fault, but I found her character way out of wack.

Pirates of Silicon Valley

Pirates of Silicon Valley

Who's in it: Noah Wyle, Joey Slotnick, Anthony Michael Hall, Josh Hopkins

What's it about: Bill Gates(Hall) was not always the rich, ingenius man people believe him to be. When the computer was really starting to take off, he jumped on the bandwagon to help develop computer code with his best friend Paul Allen(Hopkins). While he was doing this in Albequerque, Steve Jobs(Wyle) and his best friend Steve Wozniak(Slotnick) were developing a computer with a screen in their garage. Jobs eventually founds Apple and Gates founds Microsoft. The two battle it out but find their common ground against IBM. Together and work with, yet decieve, the other in hopes to bring their company out on top

What I Think: I have always been impressed with technology, yet I have never know the story behind the success of Bill Gates. I thought that it was amazing how everything worked out between all of these companies. The acting wasn't great, but it wasn't supposed to really be great. These actors were portraying real live people and this is what I would've thought of them to be. It was great how it was really being told like a story of the success of these men. The transitions should've been done more smoothly as the scenes switched between the two sets of friends.

Kung Fu Panda

Kung Fu Panda

Who's in it: Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, Jackie Chan, David Cross, Ian McShane, Randall Duk Kim

What's it about: Po(Black) is a panda working in a noodle shop. His dream is to be the greatest Kung Fu master in all of China. After he is chosen to be the Dragon Warrior by Oogway(Kim), he is to work with Shifu(Hoffman). Shifu has trained the Furious Five, which includes Tigress(Jolie), Mantis(Rogen), Viper(Liu), Monkey(Chan), and Crane(Cross). When Tai Lung(McShane) escapes from prison, the village is in deep peril. Po must learn the way of Kung Fu quickly before Tai Lung arrives. The only problem is that not only Po, but Shifu also, doesn't believe that Po can live up to the title he'd been given.

What I Think: I first saw this movie in theatres. I loved it then and I love it even more now. There were so many things that I missed the first time around and then I got the DVD and was able to really inspect some of the things. I listened to some of the commentary and it was amazing how many things I didn't catch on to! Anyways, Jack Black is always awesome and I loved him doing a big, fat panda. His humor and way of distorting his voice made everything really fit. You felt as if he were really the panda. Hoffman I didn't even notice wasin the movie until the credits. I knew that I recognized the voice and then it hit me when I saw the name.

Wall-E

Wall-E

Who's in it: Ben Burtt, Elissa Knight, Jeff Garlin

What's it about: The world has been left for ruin and robots are being used to clean it up. The human race blasted off to space in hopes of the world returning to it's natural state. Wall-E(Burtt) is the last of the cleaning robots and has created a world of his own. When EVE(Knight) arrives from the mothership, he falls in love with her. She is only interested in finding sign of life on Earth. Wall-E gives her the plant that he found and she is picked back up and taken to the mothership. Wall-E holds onto the ship and finds himself among humans again. The captain(Garlin) is going to go back to Earth and start life over but AUTO, the autopilot on the ship, will not allow it. In hopes of returning to Earth, the captain puts all of his hope into the hands of Wall-E and EVE.

What I Think: This movie jumped straight to the top of my favourites. There was not alot of dialogue in this movie and it didn't really need any. The message that this movie is sending to people is crucial and we all need to begin to realize that this is exactly what the world is heading for. Epic disaster is in store for us. The animation was superb. I know that they worked very hard on every bit of detail that the designers could and it really paid off. This is one of the best movies I've ever seen and I will never get tired of it!

Bolt

Bolt

Who's in it: John Travolta, Miley Cyrus, Susie Essman, Mark Walton

What's it about: Bolt(Travolta) has always been on the set with his human Penny(Cyrus). He, however, has never known that his whole life has been filmed. His character on the show is a super dog who beats through evil to save his beloved Penny. After escaping from the set in hopes of saving Penny, he suddenly finds himself on the streets of New York City. Here he meets Mittens(Essman), an alley cat that has been without a home for a long time. Together they make their way across the United States with Rhino(Walton), an adventrue-seeking hamster they meet along the way, to find Penny again and reunite the two friends once more.

What I Think: I love everything that Pixar does. They just get better and better every time they do something new. The story was great and the depth of the characters was even better. I thought it was great that you could feel along with everything. The voiceovers were very clear and easy to understand. Good actors and actresses were chosen for each character and that's sometimes hard to find for an animation. I think that the tone of voice fitted every aspect of the character they portrayed. Loved the music that was involved.

Australia

Australia

Who's in it: Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Bryan Brown, David Gulpilil, Brandon Walters, David Wenham

What's it about: The death of her wealthy husband sends Lady Sarah Ashley(Kidman) to the down under. In Australia, she meets the Drover(Jackman) who leads her to Far Away Downs, their cattle droving business headquarters. There she meets Fletcher(Wenham), who abuses the Aboriginal women who live on the estate. Nullah(Walters) and his grandfather King George(Gulpilil) lead Lady Ashley and the Drover through the Never Ever Land to deliver the cattle before their rival King Carney(Brown). In a time when equality is out of the question and acceptance is hard to find, the Far Away Downs family is sent on a grueling journey to become the head cattle drovers in Australia.

What I Think: I have to say that I loved Kidman and Jackman in this movie. Everything about them was perfect. Kidman looked as if she were never in make-up. She's absolutely gorgeous even without it. Jackman, People's most recent Sexiest Man Alive was stunning. There were so many scenes where I just about died they were so romantic. The story was very inticing and I loved every thing that was thrown into it. The movie was very long but it was worth every second that passed. Walters did one of the best acting jobs I've ever seen a child perform. It was hard to take your eyes off such a cute little guy.

Trapped

Trapped

Who's in it: Kevin Bacon, Charlize Theron, Stuart Townsend, Courtney Love, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Dakota Fanning

What's it about: Always wanting to bring families back together, Joe(Bacon) is targeting a new family. Karen(Theron) and Will(Townsend) are separated by a presentation that Will must make, leaving Karen with their only daughter Abigail(Fanning). Joe, his wife Cheryl(Love), and his other partner Marvin(Taylor) work together to keep the family apart for 24 hours in order to make them realize that they need to spend more time together. What Joe didn't find out is that Abigail has severe athsma and must be medicated several times every day. After finding this out, the family works together to bring everything to a stop before someone gets hurt.

What I Think: I have to say that the one thing that I really liked about this movie was Kevin Bacon. He really brought out his character. I also loved the spiderweb tattoo that was around his bellybutton. I loved the acting from everybody. Theron is absolutely gorgeous, as is Love. Townsend's accent left me breathless and his wit left me wanting to know what he would do in other situations. They really sold themselves in this movie and I want to definitely see more movies with the like of them in it.

Beowulf & Grendel

Beowulf & Grendel

Who's in it: Gerard Butler, Ingvar Sigurðsson, Sarah Polley, Stellan Skarsgård

What's it about: Beowulf(Butler) is a superhuman figure who lives in Geatland. He is called upon King Hrothgar(Skarsgård) to help save his army from the devilish figure named Grendel(Sigurðsson). When he arrives to take care of Hrothgar's problem, he meets that lovely witch Selma(Polley). She can talk with Grendel in his unknown language of the Trolls. Beowulf is told to extinguish the life of Grendel, but when Selma tells his not to do so, Beowulf is stuck in a rut between love and duty.

What I Think: Seeing as I know the real story of the ancient Beowulf, I was not so impressed with this movie. So many things were twisted around differently and I didn't like that one bit. Beowulf was supposed to pull off Grendels arm painfully and he wasn't supposed to fall in love with a witch. However, I loved listening and watching my favourite actor of all time, Gerard Butler. The continuous peeing on things began to get old after a while. This could have been done way better than it was.

Ghost Writer

Ghost Writer

Who's in it: Alan Cumming, David Boreanaz

What's it about: John(Cumming) has always wanted fame and fortune. He has always loved music and helping other people. After allowing Sebastian(Boreanaz) into his home, John begins to obsess and fawn over him. He thinks that he is sheltering the greatest writer that ever lived, even though he hasn't seen one page of the novel. When he helps in the murder of young Sebastian, he turns in the novel under his own name. Riden with guilt, he begins to see and hear Sebastian around his home and other places he happens to be.

What I Think: I might tell you that this movie is originally under the name Suffering Man's Charity. I just so happen to love Alan Cumming and everything he's in and everything he does. I was surprised by this movie and all of the sexuality that happened to be in it. I thought that the story needed a bit more work before it was produced, but all in all, it was a great movie. Not one for a family, but more of a movie to watch by yourself when you don't plan on doing anything for a while. You need to pay close attention to the movie to really get it. Boreanaz did a great job, in my opinion, and deserves special appraisal for being put through his torturous scene in women's underclothing.

Rain Man

Rain Man

Who's in it: Dustin Hoffman, Tom Cruise, Valeria Golino

What's it about: Based on the true story, Raymond Babbitt(Hoffman), or more well known as Rain Man, is an autistic genius. He is stole from his asylum home by his newly found brother, Charlie(Cruise). Along with Charlie and Susanna(Golino), Raymond sees the world for what it is. He experiences things that he'd never knew existed in the 30 years he'd been living. In a fight to get custody of his brother and the estate left to Raymond by their father, Charlie changes his ways in response to the ways of his childhood hero, the Rain Man.
What I Think: This story was so great. I was impressed by Hoffman's performance as a highly intelligent, yet mentally challenged man. To show that such a wonderful man could change one of the most deceitful men in only 2 hours time, is an amazing feat for a film maker. Cruise did an amazing job as the jealous and younger brother. I was impressed at Hoffman's consistency of the actions he had to perform to be Rain Man. Great movie of a great man.

Fluke

Fluke

Who's in it: Matthew Modine, Samuel L. Jackson, Nancy Travis, Eric Stoltz, Max Pomeranc

What's it about: Tom(Modine) dies in a car crash that he barely remembers. His soul is transferred to a newly born homeless puppy. As he grows up as a dog, he meets Rumbo(Jackson). They have their own adventrues until Rumbo dies from a gunshot. Now he's remembering that his best friend and business partner, Jeff(Stoltz), was the one that killed him. In a desperate attempt to save his wife, Carol(Travis), and his son, Brian(Pomeranc), he must find and fix everything that he's ever done.

What I Think: This was one of my childhood favourites. I first saw it in Ohio with my family on a summer trip. I didn't quite remember it as well as I thought I had, and was slightly surprised about the ending. I thought that the story was well thought out and played. A little much at times, but nothing more than a movie today with all sorts or weird and different scenes. I was impressed that a 1995 movie was done so well. The special effects during the soul transfer was kind of sad, but I loved it all the same. Great performance by Pomeranc and Travis. Stoltz could have acted a little more evil to portray the character that Fluke thought he was.

No Reservations

No Reservations

Who's in it: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Aaron Eckhart, Abigail Breslin

What's it about: After the death of her sister, Kate(Zeta-Jones) is given her niece, Zoe(Breslin), and is her legal guardian. Kate has never been much of a people person and is always thinking about food and her job. She works as head chef for a restaurant. After her leave from work, she comes back to see that she has a new co-worker. Nick(Eckhart) is coming up fast to getting Kate's hard-earned position. Oblivious to Nick's love and worried about her new found parenthood, Kate is burdened by too many feelings at once and has to sort them out in order to finally have the happy life she always wanted

What I Think: Definitely a great movie to me. I had no clue that Eckhart could be so flexible with himself. I mean, Harvey Dent and Two-Face, but still able to do a lovey-dovey sous chef? I hadn't seen a movie with Zeta-Jones in it lately, but I must admit that she hasn't changed a bit. Breslin, I've realized, is coming up as the cute little girl in almost every upcoming movie. I've seen her in 'Nim's Island', 'Definitely, Maybe', and now 'No Reservations'. She's done a great job in all of them. Watch out Dakota!

Harold and Kumar: Escape from Guantanamo Bay

Harold and Kumar: Escape from Guantanamo Bay

Who's in it: John Cho, Kal Penn, Rob Corddry, Neil Patrick Harris, Danneel Harris, Eric Winter, Paula Garcés

What's it about: Harold(Cho) and Kumar(Penn) are on their way to Amsterdam to chase down Harold's love, Maria(Garcés). They are thrown off the plane because they're believed to be terrorists. Governmental terrorist investigator Ron Fox(Corddry) is on the duo's tail when they escape from Guantanamo Bay. They are on their way to Texas, where Kumar has found out his love, Vannessa(D. Harris), is marrying Colton(Winter). They get a ride from Neil Patrick Harris(N.P. Harris) and finally get to Texas in hopes that Colton will help them get out of their situation of suspected terrorism because of his connections in the government.

What I Think: This was basically all about sex and smoking pot. I thought that some parts were funny but I didn't like the majority of the movie. There were too many naked women and other degrading references toward females. It was pretty disgusting, but hilarious at the same time. The plot was great to watch unfold. Everything that they got into kept adding to their pile of chaos. The entire movie had me laughing. There is alot of nudity and drug reference, so this is a movie for adults.

Stay Alive

Stay Alive

Who's in it: Jon Foster, Samaire Armstrong, Frankie Muniz, Jimmi Simpson, Sophia Bush

What's it about: A new, unreleased video game, 'Stay Alive', finds it's way into the hands of Hutch(Foster), and his friends after the mysterious murder of their friends. Hutch meets Abigail(Armstrong) and they, along with October(Bush), Phineus(Simpson), and Swink(Muniz), play the game in memory of their lost friends. When they die in the video game, they begin to be picked off with a eerily similar death to the way they died in the game. When looking into the history of the story the game was based on they discover a haunted past.
What I Think: I had orginally seen this movie in theatres with my brother and a friend. It was a fairly good performance from each of these actors and actresses. The storyline was a little off and all, but I got the whole thing in the end. Some of the effects sucked when I first saw it, but watching it again made me realize that they were supposed to be that way because they were portraying that the actual characters were killing off the people. I did not expect for Muniz to be in this movie. He did one of the greatest jobs I've ever seen him do. Great twist at the very end. You have to pay very close attention to be able to guess how everything comes to a close.

Sling Blade

Sling Blade

Who's in it: Billy Bob Thorton, Dwight Yoakam, Lucas Black, Natalie Canerday

What's it about: Karl(Thorton), a mentally challenged young man, killed his mother and another boy. After 25 years in a psychiatric hospital, he's released back into the town where he grew up. There he meets Frank(Black) and his mother Linda(Canerday). When he begins living with them, he meets her abusive boyfriend, Doyle(Yoakam). Now, with their lives threatened, Karl will do anything to let his new best friend be happy again.

What I Think: I love these kind of movies. Thorton was a genius in writing and directing this movie. Everything about it was absolutely amazing. The storyline was great and the way everything played out to the end was also great. The actors were kind of weird at times. I felt like some of the more minor roles were just reading lines and not really feeling what they were saying. Absolute genius in the end though. Great, but anticipated, ending.

Tropic Thunder

Tropic Thunder

Who's in it: Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downing Jr., Jay Baruchel, Brandon T. Jackson, Tom Cruise, Brandon Soo Hoo, Nick Nolte

What's it about: Tugg Speedman(Stiller), Jeff Portnoy(Black), Kirk Lazarus(Downing), Kevin Sandusky(Baruchel), and Alpa Chino(Jackson) are the five actors in Four Leaf's(Nolte) novel based movie. They refuse to cooperate and then are put into real life danger in the Vietnam jungle. They are being taped throughout this experience but they think that all of the Vietnamese people they meet are actors. They meet Tran(Soo Hoo), the adolescent leader of Flaming Dragon, a heroine plant, and Tugg is captured. Les Grossman(Cruise) gets a call from the drug sellers and tells them that they can kill Speedman. The other 4 plan an attack on the camp to save him.

What I Think: This was a great movie for all of the actors in it. Ben Stiller is not only an outstanding actor, but he directed this movie as well. He's a mastermind of comedy! He picked the funniest cast ever. The plot was great, but still had that serious feel to it. Downing played a great "dude playin' the dude, disguised as another dude"! Black did his part absolutely perfectly. I'm proud of all of these guys. I didn't notice until the end, that there weren't any main female roles at all. They did great to not have any women in it. There was a brief moment of nudity, but that's all.

The Heartbreak Kid

The Heartbreak Kid

Who's in it: Ben Stiller, Malin Akerman, Michelle Monaghan

What's it about: Eddie(Stiller) has never been married and is always scared of the commitment. He meets Lila(Akerman) on the street one day and then a relationship soon follows. They get married within a few months time and are on their honeymoon in México. He meets Miranda(Monaghan) on the beach one night after Lila got a really bad sunburn and won't come out of the resort room. They fall in love, but when he tells her that he's married everything goes to pieces. He gets a divorce from Lila only to find that Miranda has already gotten married.

What I Think: Ben Stiller is one of my favourite actors of all time and I love his comic routine. I still felt like he was a Focker in this movie because he was just always doing and saying the wrong things. Monaghan has come up in a few movies that I've watched recently and she just never seems to get anything good. Something always goes wrong for her. Akerman did a great 'loony' wife and I loved her. She's drop dead gorgeous.

The Frighteners

The Frighteners

Who's in it: Michael J. Fox, Trini Alvarado, Jake Busey, Dee Wallace

What's it about: After Johnny Bartlett(Busey) and Patricia Bradley(Wallace) murdered 12 people in an asylum, Johnny was electrified and Patricia was given back to her mother for a life-time of house arrest. The ghost of Bartlett helped to kill Frank's(Fox) wife. Now he and Patricia are on a killing spree and only Frank can see the numbers on their heads to see who goes next. After several people die, Lucy(Alvarado) has a number appear upon her forehead.

What I Think: One of the first movies to have special effects and animation, this one was actually very good. I usually look down upon works with awful animation, but given the circumstances I praise this movie. Yes, the effects weren't so great, but you could tell that they really tried. I had the 'Director's Cut' edition and therefore got to see some of the process that they went through. As for acting, it was alright. I liked the graveyard scenes. Good storyline.

Forgetting About Sarah Marshall

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Who's in it: Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Russell Brand

What's it about: Composer, Peter(Segel), and TV show actress, Sarah(Bell), have been dating for over 5 years. Sarah breaks up with Peter for another man. Peter decides to go to Hawaii to get his mind off his lost love, but finds her there with famous English rockstar, Aldous Snow(Brand). He starts to fall for the young front desk clerk, Rachel(Kunis), and they go on a few dates. Sarah begins to get jealous. Peter finds out that Aldous and Sarah had been going out for about a year, henceforth making him cheated on by them. When Aldous admits cheating on Sarah, they break up and she comes crawling back to Peter. Then Peter cheats on Rachel and then leaves back to the mainland after confessing to her and her telling him to leave. Then his musical 'Dracula' has it's first show and he invites Rachel.

What I Think: I thought that this movie was ok. The comedy was great and I was laughing most of the time. Within the first 5 minutes, several scenes of Segel naked went by. We were all surprised to see everything. There were a few scenes of female nudity, but they were nothing compared to Segel! Bell has come a long way from 'Pulse'. She was gorgeous the entire movie. Kunis is new to me, but I loved watching her. She was breathtakingly beautiful. As for Brand, I hope to see more of him. He was just so funny! This movie is definitely one to watch.

Ironman

Ironman

Who's in it: Robert Downing Jr., Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow

What's it about: Tony Stark(Downing) is captured in the Middle East by terrorists. They use his own weaponry from 'Stark Industries' to help demolish American lives. When he finally escapes by inventing and creating an iron suit that is powered by his new electromagnetic chest piece, he tries to stop all weaponry development. His partner, Obadiah(Bridges), wants him dead so that he can take over the company and become the richest, most powerful man in the world. With help from his new and improved supersuit and his assisstant Pepper(Paltrow), Stark goes one-on-one with the power craved partner.

What I Think: I had originally seen this movie the day before it came out in theatres and it was great. It was even better watching it a second time around. I absolutely love Robert Downing Jr. and being able to see his muscular body. He did a great job as the self-centered person that Tony Stark really is. Paltrow was gorgeous in her back-less blue dress. I think that the graphics in this movie were superb and I loved all of them.

Session 9

Session 9

Who's in it: Peter Mullan, David Caruso, Josh Lucas, Stephen Gevedon, Jurian Hughes
What's it about: Gordon(Mullan) has been hired, along with his cleaning crew, to renovate an old abandoned asylum. Hank(Lucas) goes missing after a few days. Mike(Gevedon) finds some old cassette tapes about the mystery murders of multiple personality ridden Mary Hobbes'(Hughes) family. Phil(Caruso) is the suspect of Hanks disappearance. All but one of the men end up dead. Wonder who the murderer is.

What I Think: I was so happy that I had taken Psychology before watching this movie. I understood more of what was going on because of the talk of Transorbital Lobotomies and Multiple Personality Syndrome. It was great to understand what was going on. the acting was a bit amateur-ish, but all in all it was a good movie. I loved how the ending worked out and how everything came to an understanding at the end. I was so sure of my own conclusion that I didn't even consider all of the evidence spread out during the movie.

Sight

Sight

Who's in it: Clayton Haske, Allison Persaud, Tony Luke Jr.

What's it about: Dead people are showing their presence to poor Jeffrey(Haske). Walking down the street he meets Dana(Persaud), who can also see these spirits. He goes with her to deliver food to the elderly. Then she calls him one night to pick her up because her boyfriend, Paul(Luke), is drunk. She goes back to his place to spend the night. Half-way through the night, Paul comes and beats up Jeffrey. When Jeffrey wakes up from a coma, Dana has gone missing. Now he's left to find out what's really going on.

What I Think: This movie must have been made by someone who just woke up one day and decided to make a movie. The audio was the worst. For the dialogue, everything was quiet so I would turn up the TV, and then when a spirit was shown, it would blast my ears out. The storyline was awful. I was disappointed because the box looked good as did the description. He just left the cab driver out there.

Definitely, Maybe

Definitely, Maybe

Who's in it: Ryan Reynolds, Abigail Breslin, Elizabeth Banks, Isla Fisher, Rachel Weisz

What's it about: Will Hayes(Reynolds) is going through a divorse. His daughter, Maya(Breslin), is asking about how he and her mother fell in love and if she was really her daughter. Will goes into an elaborate story about the three loves of his life. His college sweetheart Emily(Banks) and he broke up after he moved to New York. There he met April(Fisher) who he found as a best friend. She fell in love with him, but he had already fallen in love sith Summer(Weisz). By the end of the story, Maya knows who her Mom is and Will finds his true love.

What I Think: I loved this movie. Every actor and actress was superb with their performances. The emotion was felt and the storyline was perfect. I really felt as if I knew the characters personally. The three women he talks about did beautiful jobs and they themselves were beautiful. Breslin was adorable and was a great girl to play the role of Maya.

Airplane!

Airplane!

Who's in it: Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty, Leslie Nielson

What's it about: Ted(Hays) and Elaine(Hagerty) just broke up before she flew off as a stewardess. Ted hurries to buy a ticket and board the plane. He's deathly afraid of planes since 6 years ago in the war when he crash landed killing 5 of his mates. Once taken off and on the journey to Chicago, a virus breaks loose from the fish which leaves all of the licensed pilots fainted. Dr. Rumack(Nielson) finds that Ted can fly the plane to safety and has him up in the pilot seat ready to land.

What I Think: This was a great comedy. The jokes were funny. I enjoyed the hilarity though. The acting was good that they didn't laugh at everything and actually were very serious. I didn't like all of the story. There was a brief second of unnecessary nudity which bothered me. All in all, this movie was funny and I liked it.

The Eye

The Eye

Who's in it: Jessica Alba, Alessandro Nivola

What's it about: Having been blind since the age of 5, Sydney(Alba) has learned her way around the city using her other 4 senses. However, after a cornea transplant she begins to see things. Things that aren't real. Things that aren't seen by the normal human eye. Things that are dead. Seeing the deaths of people over and over again has her searching for help from her therapist Dr. Faulkner(Nivola). Together they reveal the mysterious life of the woman who had the eyes before her.

What I Think: This was a great performance from Alba. I've never been a huge fan of her, but after this movie I give her more credit. Acting as a blind person is difficult to do, yet she passed with flying colours. The plot of this story was amazingly well played out. I love every second of it. It made me jump at some parts, but never made me scream.

Saw I

Saw I

Who's in it: Leigh Whannell, Cary Elwes, Danny Glover, Tobin Bell

What's it about: Adam(Whannell) and Doctor Lawrence Gordon(Elwes) are stuck in a sickening bathroom. They are chained to a pipe by one foot. After finding tapes in their pockets and a tape player in the hand of another unknown dead man in the room, they begin to panic about their situation. Dr. Gordon remembers the talk of a twisted killer, Jigsaw(Bell). Now in a desperate attempt to save his family, Dr. Gordon must choose between killing Adam or severing his own foot. Detective Tapp(Glover) is on the case as a discharged officer. He just can't let go the mystery and bewilderment of Jigsaw.

What I Think: HUGE fan of the Saw series. Hasn't disappointed me yet. I must admit that I had started with the 2nd one before the 1st one and I just got to see the 1st one and I believe that I missed out on something amazing. The make-up artists were amazing with the detail. All of the mental twists really make you think. I'm happy to say that I do actually appreciate life more than most people. Love Bell to death.

August Rush

August Rush

Who's in it: Freddie Highmore, Keri Russell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Robin Williams

What's it about: Evan Taylor(Highmore) parents Lyla(Russell) and Louis(Meyers) conceived him, but weren't allowed to be together. She gets hit by a car and her father tells her that the baby died. She finds out when her father is dying and now she wants him back. Evan is now living in an adoption center. He escapes to New York one night and meets a man by the name of 'The Wizard'(Williams). 'The Wizard' lets him live with him and many other children as long as he makes money on the streets by playing music. Evan has his name changed to 'August Rush' but he runs away. He gets discovered and sent to Julliard. One night, he performs a rhapsody that he put together hoping his parents will hear him.

What I Think: The plot in this movie was very interesting. I enjoyed the performance by Highmore. He's a great actor in the making and I'm sure that we will see more of him as time passes. Robin Williams never ceases to amaze me. He can act out every character thrown at him. From funny to serious, he's possibly one of the greatest actors of all time. I love Meyers mostly because of his accent and good looks. He did some great acting here though. The movie, as a whole, moved me in a way that most movies can't.

The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight

Who's in it: Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Oldman

What's it about: Bruce Wayne(Bale) is back as Batman. His absence around the city is beginning to scare James Gordon(Oldman) who heads a police force. Harvery Dent(Eckhart) comes into the picture as a lawyer. He is putting away the crime around Gotham city and almost replacing the nightly hero, Batman. The Joker(Ledger) is back and telling Batman to reveal himself before a mass of people die. Rachel(Gyllenhaal) tells Bruce to stay masked. When the Joker captures both Rachel and Harvey, Batman is on a desperate attempt to save both lives.

What I Think: This movie was a greatly put together movie. Some people complain about it 'dragging on', but if you really watch it, there is action or plot development in every second of the movie. Bale was great but the dramatic voice change for the character of Batman was a little funny. Eckhart did an amazing job as Harvey Dent. I thought that he was even better towards the end of the movie. Was surprised what they did with Oldman. This was probably the best of movie of Heath Ledger's career and I think that it was the best movie he could've gone out on.

The Strangers

The Strangers

Who's in it: Scott Speedman, Liv Tyler, Gemma Ward, Kip Weeks, Laura Margolis

What's it about: After Kristen(Tyler) rejects a proposal by James(Speedman), they go back to his family's summer home. Around 4am, a knock comes to the door and a girl(Ward) asks for someone who they don't know. James leaves and then the girl comes back and knocks again. Kristen begins to hear weird noises around the house and then a masked man(Weeks) appears inside. She calls and asks James to come back. When he gets back, they're in for a thrilling night when a third attacker(Margolis) comes into the picture. A bloody massacre follows as the night progresses and Kristen and James attempt to escape the madness

What I Think: I think that this movie was really creepy. It made it worse to know that it was based on true events. I did some research and read that the Hoyt family had all information on the Internet deleted about the case so don't bother attempting to dig it up. This movie had all of the classic scares without too much gore. I really enjoyed this but I'm kind of scared to wake up at 4am anytime soon. Amazing performances from Speedman and Tyler. Kudos to the both of you.

High School Musical 3

High School Musical 3

Who's in it: Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu

What's it about: In the final year of high school, Troy(Efron) and Gabriella(Hudgens) are finally realizing that they will soon be coming to a goodbye. They're brought into another musical for their final mark on East High. Sharpay(Tisdale) and Ryan(Grabeel) Evans are on their tails though. Wanting the end of senior year to be all about them, they're willing to do almost anything to get the leads. Gabriella leaves for Stanford University before the year ends and Chad(Bleu) has to help Troy get through his final days at East High and, more importantly, his last days as a Wildcat.

What I Think: Always have been a fan of Kenny Ortega and his directing with all of the High School Musicals. The dancing was superb. I love all of the songs that they sang. Efron is still beautiful as is Hudgens. Tisdale has really started to get on my favourite actresses list. I absolutely love everything about Grabeel. He's adorable with his, as my mother says, 'bug eyes'. The wardrobe was fabulous. Great way for the Wildcats to go out with a bang!

Pulse

Pulse

Who's in it: Kristen Bell, Iam Somerhalder, Jonathan Tucker

What's it about: A virus is taking over the city and killing everyone it comes in contact with. It all begins when Josh(Tucker) hacks into a hackers computer and released an uncontrollable frequency that takes form and comes through anything electronic. Mattie(Bell) witnesses Josh's suicide and isn't the same afterwards. When she starts getting weird messages from his computer, she goes to find it. It has been sold to Dexter(Somerhalder) and he finds disturbing images and videos on it. After finding a USB drive with a solution to the virus, Mattie and Dexter go to shut it down.

What I Think: This movie was pretty weird. The acting, in my opinion, was really good. I enjoyed the storylineand the way that the movie ended. I have never seen any of these actors or actresses before, however, I think that they did a great job. Somerhalder was really cute and had gorgeous eyes. Bell had the emotions down pact. All in all, I enjoyed this movie. I like technical scares.

Made of Honor

Made of Honor

Who's in it: Patrick Dempsey, Michelle Monaghan, Kevin McKidd

What's it about: Tom(Dempsey) and Hannah(Monaghan) have been best friends since a college accident. Tom is always sleeping around with different women every night and then comes back to spend a day with Hannah every Sunday. Hannah leaves for a trip to Scotland for 6 weeks and doesn't get to hardly speak with Tom in that time. Tom realizes that he is in love with Hannah while she's gone. When she gets back, she surprises him with her new fiance, and Duke of Scotland, Colin(McKidd). Tom agrees to be Hannah's maid of honor in the wedding. Now in a crazed attempt to 'steal the bride', Tom must try his hardest to be the best maid of honor he can be.

What I Think: I actually first saw this movie in theaters with my best friend. We both adored the storyline and the comedic routine that went along with it. I've never been a huge fan on Patrick Dempsey, but this movie has made me realize why so many women are in love with him. Monaghan was beautiful in every aspect of her character and as an actress. This movie makes you really sympathize with men all over the world that lose their love to a superior male. Great movie!

My Mom's New Boyfriend

My Mom's New Boyfriend

Who's in it: Antonio Banderas, Meg Ryan, Colin Hanks, Selma Blair

What's it about: Marty(Ryan) had always had problems in her life. After a life changing experience while taking her son Henry(Hanks), a new FBI agent, to the airport, she becomes a new person. After three years, Henry comes back with his fiancé(Blair). His mother is new and improved and an all around hottie. Everyone wants to date her. After she meets smooth talker Tommy(Banderas), she starts to fall in love. However, Tommy has a secret life and Henry's on his tail.

What I Think: This movie was very entertaining. It was disturbing at times, but wonderfully played out. Hanks is really like his father. Banderas was wonderful as he is in all of his movies. Still looks amazing and good looking. Blair was definetely good. Ryan seemed as if she were drunk the entire time and I wasn't quite sure if that was her or the character she was portraying. Great movie and amazing twist in the end!

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Who's in it: Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Mia Sara, Jeffrey Jones, Jennifer Grey

What's it about: Ferris Bueller(Broderick) is playing sick to get out of school. His parents completely buy it but his sister Jeanie(Grey) doesn't for a second. When left alone, he calls his friend Cameron(Ruck) and plans a ridiculously crazy day. After getting his girlfriend, Sloane(Sara), out of school too, they go to the city for a day of fun. Principal Ed Rooney(Jones) is on their tail every step of the way though. He knows that Ferris is behind this 100% of the way and he's going to catch him no matter what it takes.

What I Think: This movie was a hoot. I loved watching a young Broderick doing all sorts of crazy teenager things to stay out of trouble. Being a 1986 movie, it was different for me. Alan Ruck was so cute back then and now he was in 'The Happening'. The plot was ever so unfolding. I loved how Broderick would talk to the audience throughout the movie about everything that was happening. The tricks he used were so well planned out that even I would have never thought of them.

Twitches Too

Twitches Too

Who's in it: Tia Mowry, Tamera Mowry, Patrick Fabian

What's it about: Camryn(Tamera Mowry) and Alex(Tia Mowry) are at it again. An evil shadow is lurking around and they need to take care of it. Thantos(Fabian) is lurking in the darkness as their mother says. The twins need to do a spell to rid dangers from the darkness. However, Alex thinks that they're father is living in the Shadowlands and refuses to do the Vaquishing Spell. Alex chooses to do a Freedom Spell instead. Then Thantos comes back when Alex surrenders her powers to his will

What I Think: This movie was alright. Seeing as it was a Disney movie that wasn't released in theatres, I didn't expect to have superb acting. I was right too. The emotion just wasn't there in this movie. There weren't very many twists or anything. Everything was expected and I was left disappointed. Tia and Tamera have lost their charm if this is the end. Fabian was not good at all. I really am glad that this is the last of the Twitches

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Who's in it: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Christian Coulson

What's it about: Harry Potter(Radcliffe), Ron Weasley(Grint), and Hermione Granger(Watson) are on the move again. This time, Harry begins hearing voices in the castle. Mysterious messages begin to appear on the walls and people are being petrified. Journeying into the Chamber of Secrets they meet Tom Riddle(Coulson), the spirit of Voldemort. They need to seal it forever and save their friends once more from the evil Lord Voldemort.

What I Think: J.K Rowling still does her very best when writing her stories. Again there was alot of detail left out. Kids are growing up. Different Voldemort and everything and I enjoyed that. Coulson played a great Tom Riddle. Still kind of wish everything wasn't so bright. Great movie, kinda boring in places, but in all I loved it. Of course, I'm a fan of Harry Potter in general.

The Brave One

The Brave One

Who's in it: Jodie Foster, Terrence Howard, Naveen Andrews

What's it about: Erica Bain(Foster) walks the streets of New York City. She does a radio talk show about the noises in NYC. She and her fiancé, David(Andrews), go for a walk and get beat up by some hispanics in the park. David doesn't survive and she is in a coma for 3 weeks. When she awakens, she goes to the police station for them to help her with her case. When they won't help her, she takes matters into her own hands. Detective Mercer(Howard) is the head investigation of the crimes she commits. He's on her heels and she's trying to cover it up

What I Think: This movie was actually very good. There were a few great quotes in it. Fear really is a part of our lives. Jodie Foster is one of the best actresses ever. I thought that she did an absolutely amazing job in this movie. Everything about her was so great. She played every scene with the greatest emotions in a movie that I think I've ever seen. I haven't seen much of Howard but he worked very well with Foster. Sad to see Andrews go so quickly in the movie. Plot and development is one of the best one's out. Recommended for all. There is a quick glipmse of nudity, but only for a few seconds.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Who's in it: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane, Richard Bremmer

What's it about: Harry Potter(Radcliffe) has been famous since the beginning of his life. Voldemort(Bremmer) killed his parents, yet he survived the 'Killing Curse'When half-giant keeper of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Hagrid(Coltrane), comes on his 11th birthday, he discovers he's a wizard. Harry and Hagrid go to get his school supplies. At the bank, Hagrid gets out a mysterious bag. On the train to Hogwarts he meets Ron Weasley(Grint) and Hermoine Granger(Watson). They immediatley start unraveling the mystery of the Sorcerer's Stone which prolongs life. Voldemort is trying to come back and finish off Harry. Professor Snape(Rickman) is looking quite suspicious

What I Think: Book was great. J.K. Rowling is one of my favourites. Rickman does a great job. He really had the right stuff to play the evil Professor Snape. The beginning careers for three young people. Radcliffe was great. Cute little accent. Grint is adorable. He just puffs up those cheeks when he smiles and you just want to hug him. Watson has the most uncontrollable hair but acts well. Alot of detail was left out from the book and that is what made the movie not so great. Book was definetely better than the movie this time.

Hostel Part II

Hostel: Part II

Who's in it: Lauren German, Roger Bart, Heather Matarazzo, Bijou Phillips, Richard Burgi, Vera Jordanova

What's it about: Beth(German), Whitney(Phillips), and Lorna(Matarazzo) are going on a trip to Prague. On the train, they meet a young Italian girl named Axelle(Jordanova). She suggests that they go to Slovakia with her instead for a spa trip. When they get to the Hostel, they are put up for bid in the slaughter auction. Todd(Burgi) buys Whitney for himself and Beth for his brother Stuart(Bart). Stuart runs into Beth at the festival in town. When Beth is captured and sees Stuart there to kill her, she becomes frantic. How will they survive?

What I Think: This movie was really alot better than the first one. I was surprised how much of the first movie was explained in the second one. I loved that. German was a great actress. She really had facial expressions down. Matarazzo should stick to being the Princess Diaries wacky friend. I think that this movie had way more plot to it. There weren't as many nude women and there were actually two male parts shown. This movie is for those with a completely mature mind and a cast-iron stomach.

Donnie Darko

Donnie Darko

Who's in it: Jake Gyllenhaal, James Duval, Jena Malone

What's it about: Donnie Darko(Gyllenhaal) has been starting to see things. The main hallucination that he's been witnessing is a 6ft. bunny rabbit with a deathly face named Frank(Duval). Frank has been telling Donnie about time travel and has been telling him to do all sorts of awful things like burning down houses and busting water mains. Meeting Gretchen(Malone) has made him more comfortable with telling people about it. Frank tells Donnie that the world is soon to end. Donnie has to fix it.

What I Think: I absolutely loved this movie. I had only heard bad things about it before but this movie was great. It was confusing, yet I understood it every bit. The only thing is that I can't really explain what happens to anyone else. The acting was great, especially Gyllenhaal. There were other people in the movie that you see alot more often now like Seth Rogen, Ashley Tisdale, Drew Barrymore, and Jerry Trainor. This movie, I think, is a must see for all.

The Happening

The Happening

Who's in it: Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel, Ashlyn Sanchez, John Leguizamo

What's it about: Something is happening to the Northeast part of the United States. An airborne toxin is taking over and causing people to kill themselves. Elliot(Wahlberg) and Alma(Deschanel) are escaping New York with Julian(Leguizamo) and his daughter Jess(Sanchez), but Julian decides to go back for his wife when he loses contact with her. Leaving Jess is his friends hands, the 3 leave to Pennsylvania, only to meet more of intoxicated persons. It seems like they will never find an escape.

What I Think: Personally, this movie was great. I was so intent on figuring it out, only to be stunned by the ending. My boyfriend was completely confused and hated the whole movie. Wahlberg was an amazing actor. Sanchez, however, could've used a little more teaching. When you learn to cry, then you become a great performer. I thought that a child like her would've been able to perform such a feeble task as to cry. Anyways, great movie. Definetley one for the books.

The Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion

Who's in it: Eddie Murphy, Marsha Thomason, Terence Stamp, Nathaniel Parker

What's it about: The Evers and Evers Real Estate just got a huge job when asked to sell an old mansion. Jim(Murphy) and Sara(Thomason) are on their way out of town and stop by to get ahead of their next week. The butler, Ramsley(Stamp), gets them situated, but a storm keeps them overnight. The story behind the mansion is that two lovers had died in the house and their souls still walked the halls. Master Gracey(Parker), the ghost of one of the lovers, thinks that Sara is the reincarnate of his lost love. Gracey attempts to steal Sara away from Jim, but Jim won't have it and does everything that he can to stop him.

What I Think: This movie was very different. Not one of Disney's best, but certainly not it's worst. I would have to say that the plot played out well. I was confused about how Disney could have the, quite distubing, ending that it did. Murphy is always a great man to watch. He was funny, but became serious when the time came for him to be. The effects were pretty cool, but still amateurish. Surprised to hear the word 'damn' several times in a Disney movie.

Dark Water

Dark Water

Who's in it: Jennifer Connelly, Ariel Gade, Dougray Scott

What's it about: Dahlia(Connelly) and Ceci(Gade) move into a new apartment after a Dahlia and her husband, Kyle(Scott), get divorced. On their first night there, Ceci spots a leak in the ceiling. Dahlia gets it fixed, but it reappears hours later, only worse. Ceci starts going to a new school and develops an imaginary friend named Natasha. Dahlia explores the room above hers and discovers that it's filled with black water. Strange things begin to happen and she has a mystery to solve.

What I Think: Well, I must say that I don't know if I'll be able to take a bath after this. It was a very strange and weird movie. Things were kind of screwed up and it was, at times, difficult to follow. When I thought that everything was over, it wasn't. That is one thing that really intrigued me about this movie. The ending was not the ending I had hoped for, but was glad for the the little girl in the final elevator scene.

The Orphanage - El Orfanato

The Orphanage - El Orfanato

Who's in it: Belén Rueda, Fernando Cayo, Roger Príncep

What's it about: Laura(Rueda) was raised in an orphanage and adopted from there as a child. Now that the building where she grew up is abandoned, she's come back to start a new orphanage with her husband, Carlos(Cayo), and her son, Simón(Príncep). Simón has imaginary friends in this house and they play a treasure hunt game with him. They will steal his things and leave clues for him to find them. When Simón discovers that he's also adopted, he begins to disobey his parents. He goes missing during the open house and is missing for 9 months when the imaginary friends begin to play treasure hunt with Laura to help her find Simón.

What I Think: This movie went straight towards the top of my favourite movies list. Even though the whole movie is in Spanish, don't let that keep you from watching it. English subtitles are available. Believe me, watching this movie, even with subtitles, will be worth your while. I've never seen these actors/actresses before, but I fell in love with their emotional abilities from the beginning. Guillermo Del Toro is THE visual mastermind. Although this movie wasn't the gory, disgusting scary I'm used to, the story was very intriguing and scary as in the possibilities of it occuring. This movie is recommended for pretty much all ages. There is one part when they're in the town street that might make you cringe.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Hatchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Who's in it: Martin Freeman, Mos Def, Zooey Deschanel, Sam Rockwell, Alan Rickman

What's it about: When Arthur's(Freeman) best friend, Ford(Def), tells him that the end of the world is in 10 minutes, he doesn't believe him. Madly in love with Trisha(Deschanel), he doesn't want to leave Earth. But Ford hitches them the ride of a lifetime. After they're kicked off one spaceship, they get saved by another one. Trisha and the man who stole her away, the President of the Universe Zaphod(Rockwell), and their depressed robot helper, Marvin(Rickman). They're on their way to find the answer to the Ultimate Question.

What I Think: Martin is a great actor and I like movies that have him in it. I loved how Rickman did Marvin's voice. I love his voice and every movie that he is in. The plot was a little boring. I enjoyed the graphics and comstume decorations for Zaphod and the other aliens. It was a very creative movie with alot of comedy that made me laugh. Britian does it again with their great British humour

Hostel

Hostel

Who's in it: Jay Hernandez, Derek Richardson, Eythor Gudjonsson, Barbara Nedeljakova, Jan Vlasák, Jana Kaderabkova

What's it about: Americans Paxton(Hernandez), Jake(Richardson), and their Icelandic friend, Oli(Gudjonsson) are in Slovakia for a vacation to remember. When Slovakian beauties Natalya(Nedeljakova) and Svetlana(Kaderabkova) get in good with the men, each begin to disappear. When Paxton leaves to find his friends, he finds himself within an 'art exhibit' where he's being gruesomely worked upon.

What I Think: This movie lacked a real plot. I think that it was made only for the purpose of having well endowed, naked women, gore, and torture. It sure isn't Saw but it certainly had its own twist to it. I thought that some of the different ideas were pretty good. The effects for the blood and such were great. I enjoyed everything except for the nudity. Acting wasn't great, but I must say that I did enjoy Gudjonsson!

P.S. I Love You

P.S. I Love You

Who's in it: Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Harry Connick Jr., Lisa Kudrow, Kathy Bates, Gina Gershon

What's it about: Holly(Swank) and Gerry(Butler) were happily wedded. They had their moments of hostility, but they always made it through. When Gerry dies of a brain tumor, Holly goes into a downspiral of being a widow. Her mother(Bates) tries to help. When Holly starts to receive letters from Gerry, she begins to have hope again. She goes to Ireland with her best friends Denise(Kudrow) and Sharon(Gershon) and Holly's friend Daniel(Connick) begins to fall for her. The letters will eventually stop, but she doesn't know if she'll be ready.

What I Think: This is my favourite movie of all time. My favourite actress and my favourite actor in the same movie. Butler was only in the movie for a short time, but I loved every second of him. Swank was absolutely amazing, but I must say that her sad face looks kind of weird. Connick Jr. was adorable with his 'rude' self. Bates always plays an amazing character and this movie didn't hold her back. Kudrow is starting to get old, but her one little speech in the karaoke bar was PRICELESS!
